This weekend I will be one of the workshop presenters at the Toastmasters District 13 Spring Conference. My workshop is titled “Speak Outside the Book” and explores all the additional resources available outside of Toastmasters, that can help you polish your speaking and presentation skills.
Does this mean that you don’t need Toastmasters? I say, “Absolutely, you need Toastmasters!” Why do you need Toastmasters if there are so many other resources? Because Toastmasters provides one thing that no other resource does… continuing, consistent, cheap practice. Nowhere else, for no lower cost, will you find someplace to practice where the audience will be supportive and helpful to you as you work to improve your skills.
